New Year’s Clean-up Tips

The New Year is almost here. Now what?

Sorry kids, the tree is going away. But you can help recycle all the left-overs!

Now it’s time to clean up! If you are looking for your holiday schedule for waste and recycling pick-up, check out our post with the days for your area.

What about the Christmas tree? Residents of Brenham can put the tree out (take off all the ornaments!) to be picked up as yard waste for $15. Make sure you schedule this with us or bring it to the transfer station for free if you live in the city limits.  Questions? Just give us a call at 979-830-9060 or message us.

Not sure what you can recycle from your leftovers?

Be careful that your containers don’t have food or liquid in them. Check the back of your plastics to see if they are recyclable. Curious about an item? Brenham residents can enter the item here and see if we can recycle it.

All the decorations…

Don’t try to recycle your lights or other wire-based decorations! Our machines will get stuck.

Here are a few other items not to throw in your recycling bin:

  • Bubble wrap
  • Cellophane
  • Plastic bags (try recycling shopping bags at your local grocery store)
  • Christmas lights
  • Ribbons
  • Bows
  • Batteries
  • Food packaging and waste
  • Clothing and shoes
  • Foam packaging
  • Holiday cards and envelopes that don’t have embellishments like glitter

And finally, flatten those boxes ok? We are ready to help you clean up and say goodbye to 2020!
